I have a new neurological condition
How things might be now
You perhaps have recently been diagnosed with a neurological condition, for example Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson’s (PD). It can be an uncertain time and you may not know where to start to improve how you feel and know what to do.
Life may have changed suddenly for you and your family. For example, you may have suffered from Stroke, or have had an accident and suffered a Brain or Spinal Cord Injury. You could have recently been discharged from hospital and need rehabilitation and guidance to help you start to get the most out of your life again.
What happens now
A thorough hands on physiotherapy assessment is an opportunity to explore both your movement difficulties and what you can do well. We can then advise as to what specialist physiotherapy treatment or management is best. You may want someone to help to improve how you move and guide you to do the right thing for your condition. You will want to work toward goals that are specific and important to you. Ongoing physiotherapy sessions may for example work toward you gaining confidence improve your strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination.
